About the Talk

How might newly imagined tools of empathy and connectedness reshape the ways we engage with the natural world? In this talk, David will discuss how this question led to the development of JPL's Blended Worlds:

Experiments in Interplanetary Imagination project, created as part of Getty's PST: Art & Science Collide Initiative, in collaboration with the City of Glendale, currently on view at the Brand Library and Art Center. Blended Worlds explores the landscape of human relationships with our ever-expanding environment.

Through a series of art and science collaborations, the exhibit presents a vision of the future, inviting us to consider how newly imagined tools of empathy and connectedness might reshape the ways we engage with the natural world. A documentary following the development of Blended Worlds was recently released on PBS ARTBOUND.
