John F. Simon Jr. is a multimedia artist and Software Art pioneer with installations in the permanent collections of The Whitney Museum of American Art, The Guggenheim, and MoMA. In 2011, he collaborated with Björk to create an app for her album Biophilia. John presents a survey of his Software Art practice, leading to his latest piece, ComplexCity (2000/2023). Since 1989, he has explored combining algorithms and art, with notable works like Every Icon (1997) featured in the Whitney Biennial. As the internet evolves, Simon offers originals and updates of his classic works.
